Charles barkley – 40 pounds

Basketball star Charles Barkley is probably not someone you’d imagine as being overweight, but the 56-year old missed a lot of sports training which caused him to pack on the pounds. Thankfully, he managed to get the situation under control before it went too far. He took up a weight loss program with a detailed diet and fitness training to lose 40 pounds. The secret to his success: vegetables!

“I’ve eaten more vegetables this summer than I have in my last 50 years of life. And they suck, just for the record,” he said while talking about his diet. “You have to eat a lot of vegetables. They don’t taste good, but I had to look at the big picture and be healthy.”

Britney spears – 4 pounds

Watching Britney Spears parade around in a schoolgirl uniform singing “hit me baby, one more time” you’d never imagine she’s struggled with her weight. But the singer did put on a little too much weight for her liking as she grew older, as most of us often do. But the 37-year old has been very public about her desire to lose weight and stay fit.

She’s also spoken a lot about her “food chart” that extensively lists all the foods that one would need to eat to help with problems ranging from diabetes and high blood pressure to arthritis. She even showed it off on Instagram! Spears has said that she regularly enjoys a variety of fruits and vegetables that help her lose weight, along with proper exercise, of course. It looks like Spears should get a nutritionist degree with her knowledge.

Jason segel – 35 pounds

Jason Segel’s most famous role might have been on the show How I Met Your Mother, but the actor went through a pretty dramatic transformation for another one of his roles. The president of Universal Pictures, Ron Mayer, actually requested that Segel slim down when he was cast in the movie, The Five Year Engagement. The 39-year old then lost 35 pound with the help of a trainer, who helped him follow a strict diet and guided him through 2 workouts daily. Segel could also use online classes in dieting if it is still needed.

Matthew mcconaughey – 38 pounds

When Matthew McConaughey was cast in the movie Dallas Buyer’s Club, his character was an HIV/AIDS victim. Naturally, such a character would look thin and sickly. While the latter of those could be handled with make up, he needed to also lose quite a bit of weight. Following a regimen of 90% diet and 10% cardio, he managed to lose 38 pounds.

Unfortunately, such drastic and sudden weight loss affected his health as well, having caused his muscles and organs to actually shrink! Thankfully, he gained the weight back once the movie finished filming. Apparently, he was craving a cheeseburger – which is no surprise! With actors putting their health on the line like this for their career, they’ll need to have a sound health insurance policy.

Sherri shepherd – 35 pounds

Sherri Shepherd made a dramatic change in her lifestyle in the year 2018. Having cut out sugar from her life entirely, she also began following a keto diet, a meal plan that includes foods that are high protein and low carb. The 52-year star revealed that she lost 35 pounds as a result and feels great.

She also says that her 13 year old son is her motivation to keep eating healthy. “I owe it to my son to be here healthy and happy. I still have to raise my child,” she said. Her son is one lucky child to have a mother that cares so much. With a mother who has a net worth of $10 million, he won’t have to won’t have to worry about student loans in the future either!
